ATTICA -- Alva Roy Harmeson, 72, who had lived on a farm near here since 1942, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Paul Ridge, of Rt. 1 Waynetown. Mrs. Ridge had cared for her father since Dec. 1. He had been in failing health about four years. Mr. Harmeson was a retired farmer. He also was employed by the Fountain County Highway Department for a period of 13 years. Mr. Harmeson was a member of the Bethel Church here. Born Feb. 20, 1891 at Sidney, Ill., he was a son of Francis Marion and Sidana Jones Harmeson. He was married Jan. 31, 1912 at Danville, Ill to Chessie I. Clark. Survivors include his wife; the daughter at whose home he died and another daughter, Mrs. Walter Denhart of Rt. 2, Veedersburg; a son, Lee Roy of Rt. 1, Attica; two brothers, Lester of Hoopston, Ill. and Francis N. of Salisbury, Md.; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the DeSutter Funeral Home here with Rev. R. D. Snell officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hill Cemetery at Hoopston. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Friday. - transcribed by kbz
